Nothing Will Be Restrained
The hugely controversial sculpture known officially as the ArcelorMittal Orbit, built on the Olympic Park, has created a storm in London. With the film maker, Simona Pianteri, I made this short film essay, looking into how man has built towers since the Tower of Babel and what they have meant. With contributions from Anish Kapoor and the engineer Cecil Balmond, the film took the viewer inside the controversial structure for the first time and posed important questions about how we judge architecture and art in a modern society.
